Friday Night Fukudome: Aramis 2007 Walkoff vs. Aramis 2008 Walkoff
The hell with not talking about the White Sox. I’m finding it’s necessary to speak of them, but I DON’T HAVE TO CARE ABOUT THEM! For the FNF on this apocalyptic afternoon in Chicago, it’s “Ohhhhh, BABY!” time.

Definitely Brewers.
It was the culmination of that awesome comeback against a big division rival.
I’ve never even heard of the White ***
Plus, Izturis made sure to fondle Aramis’s crotch after the walkoff homerun last year; this time it was probably Hank White. Crotch Fondling Skill downgrade.
Voting for this year’s homerun. Because it’s important to always be moving forward. Like a shark.
I think momentum is too highly esteemed by sports writers who also believe in curses and “clutch ability” but oh man, those three games in the aquarium were brutal and winning today felt great. Breaking out of that malaise against these guys was perfect. Hearing Hawk Harrelson choke on the homerun call was icing on the cake. Now I know how the Greeks felt watching Achilles drag Hector’s corpse around the city walls.
Also, guys, I don’t wanna put too much faith in computers and esoteric math geekery but our PECOTA projections have us at about 85% likely to win the division at this point.
Last year’s was awesome - huge rally, the home run was hit while we were down, pivotal moment in the season, etc. On the other hand, it was the culmination of a winning streak that had already been great, and then the Brewers pounded us the next day. So it wasn’t a true momentum builder.
I voted for this year’s because it was an important momentum-shifting win after that awful TB series and because I like this year’s team a lot more than last year’s team.
I was just doing some reading online. Did you know Jim Edmonds used to play for the Cardinals?
Hard to believe. It just seems like he’s always been a Cub.
I was at the 2007 game vs. the Brewers so this one is a tough call. That homerun against the Brew Crew was unexpected and led to a great night but any walk-off against the South Side D-bags, in person or not, takes the cake.
2007 was better because I was there. JB thinks it’s because of him, but he just doesn’t know what’s up.

Considering I’m essentially 50% responsible for Aram’s walkoff vs. Cordero in 07, I have no choice which to vote for.
