Sweet Uncle Lou’s Friday Roundup: The “Medic!” Edition
It’s nice to have the weekend off, free of any games. It’s particularly nice since half our team is injured. I might golf or something. Maybe nap. That Cooperstown trip took it out of me. CONTROVERSY! Anyhow, here’s your Roundup.
- Hey, did you hear Carlos Zambrano left the game Wednesday with shoulder discomfort? He’s going to have an MRI, but he will miss his next start in Baltimore. Just for laughs, check out the first comment of the post.
I think this “injury” is baloney because Lou doesn’t want Big Z pitching in any of the Cubs/Sox series. Reason? Could be anything. Lou doesn’t want Big Z to lose. Lou doesn’t want Big Z to have another embarrassing meltdown. That’s too bad, we all wanted to see Big Z.
When the Cubs/Sox series is over, Big Z will be back in the rotation.

See how far you get into that article before you get mad. I seriously made it this far. “I had my money on Kerry Wood blowing a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth…” Almost to the end of the first line. You are horrible, Rosendouche. Just horrible.
- On Tuesday night, when I sent thirty lefties to the plate in the ninth inning, how much were you missing Daryle Ward? If that big lug was still on the team instead of Hoffpauir, we win the first two in Tampa Bay. Well, never fear. Daryle is on the mend, and should be back next week. Oh, and Angel Guzman is still alive. Unlike any hope of him having a good career.
- Moving down the hall in the sick WARD (Get it? Wocka! Wocka!), Jim Edmonds’ foot hates bad grass.
- Looks like a batted ball drank the blood of Kevin Hart’s head. What the hell is a “Grade 1″ concussion? Does that mean he forgets how to write in cursive?
- This is the only team for whom Todd F. Hundley should ever have started.
- Would you believe earlier this week we had over a 40% chance of going to the World Series? No? That’s because computers are the Devil’s tool.
- As you are all aware, Rick Sutcliffe is awesome, and if there’s a dude who can beat cancer, it’s the Red Baron. But I get the feeling that’s not all he’s going to beat. Get well soon, Sut.
Well, that’s it for me, assholes. I’m glad I’m the hell out of Tampa (again). I left an upper-decker in Maddon’s toilet before we left. HA!
