Inaugural HJE Event This Saturday
I ran my record to 2-0 in Cubs games I’ve attended in 2007 as the Cubs took first place by percentage points on Wednesday night (thanks, Chuck!). That means the Cubs have reached first place before they were mathematically eliminated. Wow.
Because he has outstanding timing, loyal reader Flem is coming to Chicago this weekend, so what better time for the inaugural HJE get-together? The plan is to meet at Bernie’s Tap & Grill before the game. I plan on getting there sometime around 11:00 a.m. The game starts at 2:55 p.m. That’s a long time to be at a bar in the middle of the afternoon. We can either try to get tickets at the window prior to the start of the game, try to get tickets in some other creative way, or just watch the game at Bernie’s or any of the other bars in the area.
If you’d like to meet up, I will likely be wearing an HJE shirt and a glazed-over look.
Oh, and I’ve gotten some great submissions for the t-shirt contest. Don’t forget to get your submissions in by Sunday night.

I was at the game too BK. Supposedly, I was shown during the 7th inning stretch but when I went home to watch the replay, they skipped the 6th and 7th innings because the game was so long.
Vapor damn, I wish I could join you guys. Unfortunately I’m in Tampa, so I’m relegated to watching it on the boob toob.
