Friday Roundup: The “Go, Internet!” Edition

No. No, there isn't.

The massive anti-SOPA/PIPA internet protest supported by such massive sites as Google, Wikipedia, and Reddit seems to have been pretty damn effective. If you’ve been on the internet this week, you already know why the proposed legislation is so dangerous. This dark corner of the internet violates SOPA on a regular basis. So does basically every other blog on the internet. But no worries! If there is a pro-PIPA vote next Tuesday, I’ll just start printing out HJE content and mailing it out to you individually. That way, I only used a federal institution to disseminate copyrighted material, and there’s NO WAY that can end badly!

If you’d like to leave a Roundup tip, or you’d like to sign up for my coming newsletter, click here! Incidentally, I do find it somewhat hilarious that my parents’ generation used activism to stand bravely against things like unjust war, while my generation uses it to protect my right to make Hitler penis jokes on the internet.

Just in case he wasn’t already there, that story secured Kerry in my top-5 Cubs list. Sorry Mr Dascenzo, but you and your career .590 OPS will have to step down.

Totally off-topic, but did Fisted Foul die? It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in on that site, and was giddy about all of the catching up I had to do. Alas, it seems no more…

speaking of Dolan, i just tried to go to desipio from my work (military) computer and the site is now blocked. i can’t wait to get home to check whatever new post caused this site to be flagged by the Dept. of Defense. this is only like the fifth time in 3 years that i’ve seen a site blocked so it must be pretty offensive.
