I have already watched more postseason baseball this year than I have since the end of the 2003 NLCS. Despite the fact that it looked like all four LDSes would end in sweeps, there have already been several awesome games during the 2010 postseason. Thank goodness the Cubs aren’t in it to screw it all up for me.

Unless you’re a bologna-chewing moron, would you have enjoyed the thrill of watching Roy Halladay throw a no-hitter against the Cubs? Wouldn’t you have been screaming at your television as Tim Lincecum whiffed 14 Cub batters in a 1-0 Giants victory? Would you have already strung up and shot Brooks Conrad for booting the Cubs’ playoff hopes into right field? Weren’t you glad you weren’t relying on the likes of Kyle Farnsworth to pull your team through two innings of relief? Or waiting for the HGHed Rick Ankiel to hit a clutch, extra-inning home run? Would you already be chewing your nails if the Cubs were trying to rally tonight from an 0-2 deficit against the Texas Rangers?

Or what if Dusty Baker still managed your team in any capacity?

Despite the fact that the losing team will have only won a total of three games among all four LDSes, there have been a bunch of really exciting moments in these playoffs. The lack of Cubs in these playoffs has been a blessing in disguise for me. Once the Twins were meekly swept out of the playoffs, I haven’t a care in the world.

Baseball is fun again. Hooray!
