After yet another ridiculous loss, the Cubs find themselves- Oh, screw it. They’re terrible, unlikable, and I hate them all. Which leads me to this week’s FNF. I suggest you NEVER EVER do a GIS for “nuts smashed with hammer.” You’ll thank me later. Ladies, feel free to substitute in “ovaries,” or whatever the hell you have down there.

| Watching the Cubs | Getting Your Nuts Smashed with a Hammer |

Well I want to have kids one day so I guess I’ll watch shitty baseball for a little while until the playoffs starts
I am a lady, and am nuts-free, so I vote for getting hit with a hammer. I am also trying to wean myself off the Cubs, but am having trouble because my source and his brother come over to watch the Cubs when they are on the road. I wish he would travel with the team. I think they have the hots for my flat screen amd my cooking.
Once again Marmol blows it. I think we really need consider trading him before he turns into Rich Hill or Felix Pie. Batters know they can’t hit him & have a 40% at a walk. Marmol will walk a run in soon enough.
Playing indoor soccer sans the benefit of an “athletic supporter”, I took a shot to the franks-n-beans a couple of times. Not fun. I guess I’ll go with watching the game.
Having said that. I am glad Metrocast cable doesn’t carry WGN out here. Surfing the Cubs’ blogs ( not including the propaganda Cubs.com) I am seeing lots of unhappiness from Cubs Nation. This may sound like conspiracy theory, but does anyone get the sense that the Tribune Co. subconsciously marketed the Cubs’ “Loveable Losers” tag over the last quarter century or so? Than’s the only justification for Wrigley Field to be still packed in August while the host team has no shot at contending. “Fun at the Ol’ Ballpark” means much less when 1) you know of expansion franchises that have won pennants and World Series (fuck you Marlins) and 2) the Cubs organization believes that Cub fans will settle for anything and make only marginal improvements to the team while not seriously pushing to end The Drought.
I’m gonna get banned for saying this one of these days, but I’m going to be pushing for the Fire for the rest of the season. I’ve been a Cub fan since 1981, and these last six years it’s been hard to love a team that doesn’t love you back.
The park is full because people bought the tickets before they knew what would happed, and can’t sell them to anyone. Before this season, I never heard Len or Bob talk up the availability of tickets. I get free tickets all the time, for good seats, and don’t even want to go, even tho’ I ride the CTA for free. The Cubs dug themselves a big hole by giving long-term contracts to players who didn’t have that many good years left. It is not possible to predict performance that far down the road. When these players underperform, it affects the morale of the role players, who are encouraged by the stars. I don’t follow the Fire, but do follow the Bundesliga, Champions League, and Italian A, B, and C leagues, and with the Internet, it is more possible than ever. When the Cubs get to be exciting, I will be back.
Danke schoen, Edelweiss (sorry for the errors on spelling in German). I appreciate the explanation.
I know many of the HJE posters don’t care much for soccer, but I’m simply trying to illustrate that, for paying the second-highest ticket prices in MLB, for a sport run by a used-car salesman, and for playing in the weakest division in MLB…CUBS NATION DESERVES BETTER! >:-(
