I totally agree with Summerguy and have thought this for over a year. Jody Davis led the Daytona Cubs to the Florida State League (Class A- Advanced) title in 2008 and then was reassigned (demoted) to a catching instructor and is now coaching the Boise Hawks (Class A- short season). I don’t get how this guy gets no respect from the Cubs, but Sandberg, who has coached mediocre records at best in the minors, is the top contender for the big league Cubs. All the Cubs owners are worried about is what sideshow they can bring so fans keep coming to the giant bar called Wrigley Field.

@Starlin Castrated Theriot is a weak-hitting, untalented media whore, but he is not 5 foot nothing. You are mistaking him for Fontenot , which so many people do. Theriot is about 5 foot 9, which is normal height, while Fontenot is about 5 inches shorter. Funny thing is that Theriot always refers to himself as vertically challenged, while Fontenot insists he is as big as others, despite visual evidence to the contrary. In other words, Theriot wants people to cut him some slack because he is”little”, while Fontenot wants to be judged on what he does, not how he looks. That Lou Piniella prefers Theriot to Fontenot. whose extra base hits, , OBP and , SLG are better in less than half the at-bats , and whose RBIs are about the same, says nothing positive about Piniella.

Have you ever noticed Ryan Dempsters plaid sportscoats? Since he has so many different ones, they can’t be the family tartans. What we need is a manager who manages the players, and doesn’t allow Theriot to pretend he is a team leader. He isn’t, either. A team leader leads by example, not by a loud mouth. Byrd, maybe Dempster, maybe, but we are tired of Theriot claiming credit for everything concerning this team, except for its many losses. He never assumes responsibility for his gaffes.

The sole advantage to hiring Sandberg is that it would quickly reduce Joe Morgan to a bitter, sputtering, incoherent mess. However, since asking him to comment on a baseball game has exactly the same effect, this isn’t really an advantage at all.

Not only does Skip know how to abuse umpires in Armenian and groom a mustache to within an inch of its furry little life, but it takes a real mensch to rock a plaid sport coat. I’m 100% behind Skip.

How much do you think Jody Davis hate this Cubs organization right now? He has been in the minors managing for quite a while now and Ryno comes in and is immediately promoted up the system as the next MLB manager.
