It’s early in the season, but it’s never too early to fire up the HATEWAGON. The Cub bullpen is, basically, split down the middle.
GOOD: SeanBearPig Marshall, James Russell, Esmailin Caridad, Carlos Marmol
GODAWFUL: John Grabow, Jeff Samardzija, Justin Berg
They blew a late lead against the Braves the other night, and we won’t even mention the Opening Day meltdown they collectively had.
Ryan Theriot, on the other hand, finally collected his first (and second, as I type this; is the Theri-ot-Meter working?) base hit tonight. He has dived for 30 balls so far, and has stopped none of them. He’s bad at baseball, and I don’t like him. So, let’s put him and the bullpen in a situation from whence there is no escape for at least ONE of them.

I should have waited to vote. I need to change it.
I think we know basically what we’re going to get with Theriot, but this bullpen has a chance to be spectacularly awful.
“GOOD: SeanBearPig Marshall, James Russell, Esmailin Caridad, Carlos Marmol”
Oh yeah, Caridad is fantastic; sure wish we had more like him… :/
This ones a no-brainer as our bullpen (outside Marshall) is a complete disaster
uh-oh, looks like karma bit someone on the ass.
BK has a point – this is Uncle Lou’s way of telling Donut Jim and PK Ricketts that this is what he has been given, and this is what will result. Ergo, trade a few of our second basemen for a veteran reliever
Timing is everything…
I went with the bullpen – the Vulcan logic of the errors of the many outweigh……is irrefutable.
Bobby Scales vs Theriot would be better
Oh my God, it just wont end…
Jeffy Samardzija has the highest ERA in MLB.
When your ERA is bigger then the combined weight of our middle infielders, shit like that tends to happen.
Or lets put it this way. At our current pace it will take our club 36 games to score as many runs as Shark-Bait would have given up if he pitched 9 innings.
Crap, forgot about the two unearned Jeff saw cross the plate
…make that 54 games before our offense scores as many runs as Shark-Bait would have given up in 1.
at least I pitched good
