If this were a respectable Cubs blog, it would be about that time of year for preseason predictions. It’s not. So let’s put our corner infielders into the Fukudome, where they shall battle to the pain.
VS.
Derrek Lee
Aramis Ramirez

Aramis will.
He will hit 38.

Mike Fontenot will hit one million

E-ramis will hit more if he stays healthy… which he won’t.
D.Lee seems like he’s finally got his swing back after two years of wrist issues and personal setbacks (daughter going blind = distracting).
I’ll say 32 for D.Lee (but he won’t start hitting until June!), and 24 for A-Ram (who will probably end up on the D/L once D.Lee starts hitting).
Also, this Fukudome isn’t even remotely snide or funny. Losing your touch, or just lazy, Kermit?

I thought “…battle to the pain” was remotely funny.

@mapwheel – It’s a poll. How funny am I supposed to make it? I’ll drop your refund check in the mail on Monday, though.

Why can’t I vote for Micah Hoffpauir??? This poll is terrible.

Do Lee’s homers count after he’s traded in July?
Tommy
duh, Kevin Millar will hit 45 in 87 at bats.

@Chuck – Assuming Lee hits near the level he hit last year, I could see the Rickettses trying to shop him off to save money like a bunch of d-bags. I think he’d have the biggest impact in the tight AL/NL West races that will happen this year, but I could see Boston or even the South Side trying to rent him if they are in contention…

i do enjoy the pic is of lee swinging and missing and e-ramis making solid contact…this poll is rigged….and i vote for michael brenly blasting 80
