At 1:00 this afternoon, one of your favorite Cubs will find out if, at long last, his name will be enshrined in Cooperstown. A member of the 400+ Home Run Club, he made his way to Chicago later in his career to the delight of the fans at Wrigley Field. Two years after his arrival in Chicago, the Cubs made the playoffs.

I’m sure you’ll join me in refreshing my browser at 1:00 to see if the Hall of Fame call is made to Fred McGriff. Oh, right. And Andre Dawson. If there’s someone out there who is bigger badass and, by all accounts, a better person than Dawson, they should be knighted and sainted. The argument for Dawson has been made ad nauseam. He deserves this. Put him in the Hall, or I will shoot this kitten.

Oh, and while you’re at it, put Bert Blyleven in there, as well.
