As you know, the Cubs did not re-sign fan favorite Hank White as their backup catcher. Presumably, they will go with either Paul Bako or Koyie Hill as their backup. Unfortunately, Geovany Soto can’t possibly start 162 games, which brings us to our Friday Night Fukudome.

Koyie Hill seemed to make Big Z a better pitcher in 2007. Neither of these catchers can really hit.
c’mon people
That’s why Z’s there to pinch-hit when he’s not pitching…
Please no more washed up Dusty-era relics.
ehh..chop my fingers off
Dude you got to go with Koyie, there’s nothing more hardcore than cutting of your fingers, putting them in a bag and getting them sowed back on. That and Bako sucks so badddddd
Hill’s got the neck of a catcher, and he’s awesome under pressure. So what if he can’t hit?
From his Wikipedia entry:
On October 16, 2007, he was using a table saw to cut wood for a window frame. Part of the wood got caught in the saw, and the saw grabbed and his hand was in the way. The saw severed his thumb and severely cut into the other 4 fingers into his hand. He saved them long enough to re-attach the fingers to his hand, and after many months of therapy, was able to regain motion in his fingers.[1]
Koyie, despite the questionable name, doesn’t eff around. Eff Gabor. Koyie all the wayie!
Do Koyie, Brett Farvruh, and Geoeoeoff Jenkins all have the same dad or something?
Frankenhand FTW.
