Shitty O’Kea’s, as Dolan affectionately calls it, has become the traditional gathering place on the Friday night of the Cubs Convention for all of you anti-social mutants to make your yearly journey outside of your dank apartments. Since there might be four of you who read HJE and not Desipio who might not know about this event, I figured I’d post the information here. Come meet up if you want to try to get Mike D. so drunk that he doesn’t wake up in time for Saturday morning’s Q&A.
DATE: January 16, 2009
TIME: 8:00ish until Oleg can no longer find a bar willing to serve us
PLACE: Kitty O’Shea’s in the Hilton (720 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60607, (312) 294-6860)
WHO: You’ll know us when you see us. Guaranteed.

Don’t forget to read the thread at Desipio or on Facebook for the pre-party and possible post-party. All the John Mayer you can ask for.
I am going to try to be there, but in case I can’t be, here is some advice: When the cop says you have the right to remain silent, he means it.
Is it possible to get drunk on kiddy cocktails? If so, I’m totally in.
I’ve got his live CD to bring with! And don’t look now, but there just might be some Wine Cooolers.
Poss. HJE?
So this thing at the bar, anyone is welcome? I’d love to drive up and meet you guys. You keep my workdays very entertaining.
Can I come? I count as one of your 4 readers. I promise to wear my HJE Todd Hundley Jersey if you let me?
Everyone is invited. It’s a pretty casual (and usually incredibly crowded) setting, but I guarantee you’ll be able to find our group.
Sweet, thanks. I’m counting a rowdy and crazy night!!!!
What? Nobody is BANNED?
You guys don’t know what you’re doing.
I may have friends from outta town that weekend, but if not, I am considering joining this shindig…
@Adam B – You should bring them, and introduce us as your “internet friends.”
Which may be what his friends from out of town are……
No, they’re “real” friends, but one is a Deadbirds fan, and the other is indifferent, so I don’t think that boozing with a bunch of keyed-up Cubs fans would reflect well on my hospitality…
It is tempting, though.
@Adam B – I brought a Yankees fan and a Reds fan to the first one I went to, and both of them still talk to me.
Yeah but the Yankees were cool then (before Joe Torres left) and nobody cares about the Reds (other than Reds fans). I think that you should bring the Dirty Bird fan. It will be FUN!!!
Are Meth Head White Sox fans ever in attendence?
whoa whoa whoa
If this Pads fan were in Chicago on the anointed/appointed day, he’d be buying shots and beers… what was that crap about wine coolers? I thought the Dodger fans had those corralled.
Well, the Cards fan is out, so now I just have to convince my sports-apathetic friend, and I will be there…
I am still trying to make it. I am trying to convince Mrs. Level 5 to brave the -5 degree to join me.
