By the Way, Marquis is Gone

Cubs, Transactions

Jim Hendry has been suddenly busy this offseason, as today he finally shipped Jason Marquis to the Colorado Rockies for Luis Vizcaino (thanks to Jon for the tip). There’s no link, but the Cubs e-mailed out a press release. Vizcaino is crap, and the Cubs have plenty of starters, so this is a salary dump. But that’s boring. Instead, let’s pretend Vizcaino is part of the Jake Peavy deal.

EDIT: Here’s your official link in case you want to print it out and frame it.

Is someone sneaking around disguised as me and giving tips? Because that would be pretty rad.

Actually, there are TWO “Jon”s who read the site. I KNOW! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!

Incidentally, in the post-Marquis-trade press conference, Jim says he’s going to continue looking for starting pitching. That vague comment can only mean one thing. PEAVY.

    Ah!

I was just surprised that there were articles.
