The idiot Cubs front office once again had a coaching opening, and once again didn’t even bother to INTERVIEW Jim Essian for the job. Instead, the Cubs promoted Ryne Sandberg from the Class A affiliate, the Peoria Chiefs, to the AA affiliate, the Tennessee Smokies. Some guy named Marty Pevey is now the manager of the Peoria Cubs. I suspect Jim Hendry thought he was finally getting Peavy, and just put him wherever he had a spot. Idiot.



I’m disappointed. How awesome would this have looked in 2009?





Big mistake, Hendry. You’d better make up for it by signing Milton Bradley and trading for the RIGHT Peavy. You can go to the link above to see the entire minor league coaching staff and memorize the names of the athletic trainers for all of the Cubs’ affiliates. And then feel free to die happy.
