Also, the value of Blanco as a mentor for Soto can easily be overstated. Just making the claim “Blanco is important as a mentor to Soto” is overstating it.

Adrian Gonzalez had a good year but I don’t think he brings the “fuego” that this team needs for the playoffs. Hendry can probably steal McLouth from the Pirates for Casey McGeehee or some one equally worthless.

I like Furcal at short and Roberts at second. But how to get them?

@Bad Kermit - I think Marshall will be an excellent pitcher given the opportunity. I'd only trade Marshall for an All-star left-handed bat. I do not want Zito. Stone said they were looking to dump Soriano via one bad contract for another. I don't another club's problem. I'd trade Soriano for Roberts straight up. One of the right-handed bats must go to make room for a left handed bat. I see Lee yielding more trade value than Soriano. I could only imagine an AL club wanting Soriano. I do want Gonzalez & Nate McLouth. Those are two great left-handed bats on low budget teams. But how to get them?
