This was a toughie. On one hand you have Renteria, who took a cheap shot at my favorite hobbit. Be a man, you got hit because Soriano got nailed. At that point, things are even. Sort of. Lilly got tossed and Hudson SHOULD have been tossed for plunking Soriano and starting this whole debacle. Renteria also should have been tossed after he hit Mighty Mouse in the neck.

Then there’s Escobar. Soriano’s head gets thrown at a series after the Braves broke his fucking hand. And Escobar has the balls to point at Ted Lilly for hitting him with an 87 mph fastball.

In my book, Yunel wins the little crybaby bitch contest. There’s no way your swollen elbow equals Soriano’s missed time due to the broken hand or the potential dangers of being hit in the head with a pitch. Suck it up, Yunel, and forward your complaints to pitchers Bueno and Bennett and your dipstick manager for not putting the kibash on this nonsense. And unless you wanna end up a little puddle of goo in a limestone pit somewhere, don’t fuck with TR Lilly. Next year’s coming and we still owe you fuckers for chopping Fontenot.

@JayBandit - I respectfully disagree. There is no way Lilly wasn't throwing at Escobar. That being said, he his fastball tops out at 90mph so he should have just sucked it up and took the plunking like a man.

Gotta go with Yunel on this one. He seems a lot like an internet tough guy. Points the bat at the pitcher, causes the benchs to clear, but in the end doesn’t have the balls to charge the Cubs local pyschopath Theodore Roosevelt Lilly.

I remain infuriated to this day that Renteria did not get tossed from that game after that play but Lilly got tossed for hitting the guy. What a joke.

There is no way Lilly was intentionally hitting him in that game last year. It was the bottom of the 1st, 2 outs, and he was 0-2 on the batter. 1 pitch away from ending the 1st inning is not when you hit the batter. If it was the first pitch of the game, or in the 5th inning, then I’d see the Braves’ complaint.

All in all, nothing has happened between the Cubs & Braves. The Braves have made all the stupid moves. Soriano hit 3 homers…so he got hit. Soto hits a homer, Soriano gets thrown at. Where is the Cubs’ retaliation? Oh, that’s right, they didn’t!
