Friday Night Fukudome: Corey Patterson vs. Eric Patterson

Friday Night Fukudome

Maybe it’s because of his big brother. Maybe it’s because of his love affair with the former-letter site. Maybe it’s because he sort of sucks. But the more I watch Eric Patterson, the more he reminds me of his loathsome older brother, Corey Patterson. So, let’s put them in the Fukudome, and see who survives. Look at those smug faces.

VS.

Which Patterson will have a shittier Cubs career?

Wait a minute…did Eric leave the sticker on the bottom of the bill of his hat? Awesome.

  2. Steve Says:

Looks like it. They prolly made him leave it on – he won’t be wearing it for long.

  3. Bad Kermit Says:

His mom makes him write his name on it, so he can practice his spelling.

    uuuuggggggghhhhhhhh……….
Kermit you really screwed us on this one. Why is there no ‘both’ choice. Corey at least had some kind of power, eric looks like he doesn’t have a bat in his hands sometimes.

  5. Steve Says:

cept he spels lik he hitts so thee hatt saz errik

  6. Jarritos Says:

I voted for the young Patterson because I have a bleak outlook on the world.

How can Jim Hendry be so stupid as to give this guy a chance? His whole family is clearly missing a chromosome. And didn’t he consistently arrive to the park late last year, earning himself a demotion? It seems like he’s just as selfish and careless as his brother.

  7. Booze, broads, and bullshit Says:

To be fair, the patterson’s aren’t missing AS many chromosomes as the vick’s

  8. James H Says:

We’re on the hook for about 8 figures to that family. What have we gotten in return, a promising first half of ‘03 and a single to right against Toronto? Woof.

I used to go see Eric at Peoria and Clinotn sometimes a few years back, and he was by far the best A ball player I’ve ever seen in person. (limited history I admit) I always thought that he might be able to transfer well to the big team. I’d give him a chance. But maybe not before Murton…

  10. Byron Says:

Is it possible to have a crappy career if it doesn’t last more than 200 ABs?

  11. Booze, broads, and bullshit Says:

I believe that would actually be the definition of a crappy career
