I am going to get a “real” post up later today, but I have a quick announcement. About a month ago, Mike D. came up with the excellent idea to have HJE host a Round Table. By way of participants, we asked a gadfly, a stats-geek, a ringleader of Internet morans (misspelling intentional), an editor for ESPN the Magazine (and former Chicago Sports Weekly guru), a Cardinals fan (and NBA expert), the TV voice of the Cubs, and the only Cubs beat reporter who actually seems to enjoy his beat.
That’s right. The Round Table roster (aside from me, Mike D., and Tonker) consists of Ivy Chat’s Chuck, Flotsam-Media’s EG, Desipio’s Andy Dolan, ESPN The Magazine‘s Chris Sprow, Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Dwyer, WGN’s Len Kasper, and the Daily Herald‘s Bruce Miles.
The questions went out. The answers came in. Tomorrow, we share them with you.
Oh, and for the disbelievers, these are all the REAL people. If we were making this up, we’d have used Lee Elia, John Campanera, Fred McGriff, and Marla Collins.

well, I’m glad to see someone at this site is slowly becoming a Cubs insider. I know Len is one of those guys who keeps trying to be cool, well passed fatherhood, what with all the hip media references durring the broadcasts and local bands and cool signed acts between innings. If this isn’t some kind of farce, then I guess I dub the HJE clan cool by default.
In all seriousness. Congrats. My little brother, (and someone who was a good sport when getting beat up or when recieving purple nurples.) who turned me on to firelou and hence all it’s brother and sister stations, and who is much greater arbittor (sic) of cool, thinks this blog is among the funiest around and I tend to agreese. I know, my approval, and all the prestige that it comes with must be quite the harbinger of things to come ( like the site tanking wildly under unsavory circumstances ho, ho ) so keep it up Kent, because Jimmy needs you and Louis just can’t go back to earth sex after you ruffed her good on the top of the sports section.
HJE > BCB for one reason: we can make fun of the authors here and not get yelled at.
