Congratulations, Neifi. You’re finally worth having on a roster.Believe it or not, it’s about that time of year to start thinking about your fantasy baseball team. Last year, HJE made a late attempt to put together a fantasy league in which everyone tries to assemble the worst possible team of everyday players. This year, I’m determined to get that league together and to call it the “Neifi Perez Fantasy Baseball Keeper League.”

I am hoping we will be able to do this without paying. Right now, the plan is to have a Yahoo head-to-head league in which leaders in the following statistics are rewarded:

HITTERS: CS, K, GIDP, E, PA

PITCHERS: IP, L, H, ER, HR, BB, WP, BLK, BSV

The way I see it, those categories reward you for drafting guys who play every day, while also rewarding you if those same guys suck ass at playing every day. If people are willing to pay $25 per team, we could upgrade to Yahoo Fantasy Plus, and we could actually penalize guys for hitting home runs, driving in runs, pitching shutouts, etc.

I am, however, open to other plans if anyone knows of a better fantasy service or thinks other stat categories should or should not be utilized. I’m also not going to limit the number of people who can play. I’ll just set up multiple leagues if I need to. That means there’s no need to say, “I’m in!” in the comments section just yet. I’ll have everyone sign up later.

What are everyone’s thoughts? Let me know in the comments.
