Former teammate, Ryne Sandberg campaigned for Dawson’s induction during his speech at his own Hall of Fame induction ceremony. “No player in baseball history worked harder, suffered more or did it better than Andre Dawson,” Sandberg said of the rifle-armed outfielder known as “The Hawk.” Sandberg continued, “He’s the best I’ve ever seen. I watched him win an MVP for a last-place team in 1987 [with the Cubs], and it was the most unbelievable thing I’ve ever seen in baseball.” Sandberg concluded with, “He did it the right way, the natural way, and he did it in the field and on the bases and in every way, and I hope he will stand up here someday.”

AMEN!
A Braves win tonight and the Cubs can’t lose first place for at least three days. That feels really good.
Well said. Hopefully by the end of the day today we can take care of DFB and Keith Moreland
Stupid asshole Braves.
The Braves needed that game more than the Brewers. Give Milwaukee credit. Many of us said back in late June/early July that they were for real. Even though for a while it looked like both the Cubs and Brewers were trying to give each other the division in August, both teams have been solid in September. I listened to that game on AM-620 last night and couldn’t help but notice that the Brewers, young though they are, are not folding as easily as we would have hoped. Cubs simply need to just worry about winning games.
