I don’t even want to talk about the fact that the Human Rain Delay is coming back to Chicago. Steve Trachsel hasn’t been good in years, and the Cubs have apparently given up two minor leaguers to bring the 36-year-old back to Chicago.
Sadly, this might mean that Sean Marshall, who is a much better option than Trachsel in the rotation right now, is doomed.
Can we bring back some other members of the B126 #23 collection of suck? Is Castillo or Bullinger available?
“Thanks” to al for the scoop.
UPDATE 1: Rumor has it that the Cubs gave up Rocky Cherry and Scott Moore. Since Will Ohman and Ronny Cedeno are still on this team, this deal is awful. Plus, with the loss of Rocky Cherry today and Buck Coats and Clay Rapada yesterday, the Cubs have NO cool names left on the roster.
UPDATE 2: Cherry and Moore confirmed.

Please tell me this is a joke.
This is not acceptable.
I wish, PenFoe.
Oh sweet Jesus. Every fifth game just became a four hour+ affair. Trachsel holds onto the ball like I hold on to my stool. AND we gave up Rocky Cherry?!! My favorite minor league pitcher with the coolest name on the planet. )By the way, Buck Coats is the name I would have chosen had I gone into gay porn.) What a load.
What do you mean IF you had gone into gay porn?
Yeah, sorry about that. Might be my fault for asking too much in return when Hendry contacted me about dealing for my grand pappy. He was willing to party with Soriano and Lee, but once we demanded Ronny and half of Hendry’s lunch, the deal was OFF.
Sure, Grandpa’s a bit slow, slightly demented, and attempts to EAT the baseball instead of pitching it every time we make the mistake of handing him one, but back off, man…at least he’s not a 37-year-old, washed-up, walking Quaalude.
This team is run by a bunch of children
This guy is soooo boring. Do we really need another guy that gets no run support? Isn’t Rich Hill enough?
PenFoe, my gay porn career never materalized. Sadly, I am hung like a tic tac and that’s a big no-no in that industry.
I love how this organization trades away minor league pitching at the toss of a dime, but has no problem giving millions of dollars to the likes of Scott Eyre.
On the other hand, Trachsel’s MLB profile pic might justify the trade by itself.
Great. My irrational hatred of Steve Traschel that I’ve carried with me since 1998 has been given new legs. Thanks a pantload, Hendry.
The hatred is in no way irrational, Jon.
